Sometime ago I had either watched a true story or read something about a miraculous after-death experience through someone. It may have been a child or an adult. I do not remember. When it was over, I pondered all the events in the past few years where more and more individuals are coming forward to say and share their after-death experience. I was wondering in my mind if all of these were for real because it seemed to me they were more frequent than ever before. He placed in my heart that He was speaking more through events as this than ever because His time is near. It is His way of desperately trying to win all souls as His desire is to lose no one. Though not all stories such as we hear are true, I think the majority of them are God speaking to us through events in the lives of others.
On this same level of thinking, I feel the same about continual archaeological discoveries. We see and read more every day about what is being discovered through excavations which support the validity of the Bible.
I am reading a bit about the town of Ur, which was Abram's home town. There is a reference in the Bible which states, "As the result of extensive archaeological excavations ... a great deal is known about Abram's background. ... a few items will show the high state of civilization. The entire house of the average middle-class person had from ten to twenty rooms and measured forty to fifty-two feet; the lower floor was for servants, the upper floor for the family, with five rooms for their use; additionally, there was a guest chamber and a lavatory reserved for visitors, and a private chapel. A school was found and what the students studied was shown by the clay tablets discovered there. In the days of Abram the pupils had reading, writing, and arithmetic as today. They learned the multiplication and division tables and even worked at square and cube root. A bill of lading of about 2040 BC (about the era in which Abram is believed to have lived) showed that the commerce of that time was far-reaching. Even the name 'Abraham' has been found on the excavated clay tables."
Just this past week I again saw an archaeological discovery which revealed more evidence to the truth and authenticity of the Bible. I think in light of everything God is reaching out to us desperately to get the attention of those who doubt and those who do not believe. He is even speaking volumes to us ... those who walk with Him ... so we will feel more inclined to reach out to others to share the Good News. The time is nearer than it has ever been, and today could be someone's day of salvation!
I hope you are getting ready to join your church family in a time of fellowship this morning. It is God's desire that we have fellowship and quiet time with like-minded Christians. We all need that type of family!
Love you all!
